Finally, Soviet man's dream is a reality: the special Kremlin distributor is open to the public. But if it was formerly a question of hard to find products, it's now about pure, all natural ones.

В Москве открыли магазин, в который поставляют продукты агропромышленного комплекса управления делами президента. Здесь продаются стаканчики сметаны с видом кремлёвской стены, пакеты молока с аналогичной символикой, и даже специальная водка "Кремль."

A store has been opened in Moscow that's supplied with products from the agro-industrial complex of the president's administrative management office. They sell little containers of sour cream here with a view of the Kremlin wall, milk cartons with a similar label, and even a special "Kremlin" vodka.

Отныне, каждый из нас может откушать тех же продуктов, что и депутаты госдумы, члены правительства, и сам президент России. Покупатели, кажется, нисколько этому не удивлены.

From now on, we can all sample the same products as the Duma deputies, members of the government, and the president of Russia himself. It seems that the shoppers aren't the least bit impressed.

-- Я не думаю, что они сейчас едят что-то особенное. Ха-ха, это наверно было раньше, а сейчас такого наверно нет.

"I don't think that they eat anything special now. Ha-ha, maybe before, but there probably isn't anything like that now."

-- Он таков человек, как и мы все, вы чего?! Президент - он ничем не отличается, ха-ха, от общего, ха-ха, одинаковы мы все.

"What'd'ya mean?! He's only a man, just like the rest of us. The president - he's no different, ha-ha, than the average person, ha-ha ... we're all the same."

Цены здесь несколько ниже, чем в остальных магазинах, так как всё кремлёвское. И сам торговый дом и совхозы, производящие продукты находятся в ведении Кремля.

The prices are a little lower here than in other stores, since everything is 'Kremlin-made.' And the store itself, as well as the state farms that make the products, are under the Kremlin's authority.

Подмосковные хозяйства Астафьево, Назарьево, Непецыно и Воскресенское ещё с советских времён кормили высших государственных чиновников. А у них особые требования - чтобы не было в продуктах нитритов и нитратров, и чтобы соблюдались новейшие технологии обработки и строжайший санитарный контроль.

The suburban Moscow farms of Astafyevo, Nazaryevo, Nepetsyno and Voskresensk have been feeding senior government officials since Soviet times. And they have special demands - there can be no nitrites or nitrates in the products, and the latest processing technology and strictest sanitary controls must be observed.

This is ensured by the presidential administrative management office's 'surgeon general.' What's more, the livestock at the special state farms are maintained within a closed breeding cycle, thus 'ruling out any question' of mad cow or foot and mouth disease.

Пока магазин с подобными продуктами единственный, но по словам кремлёвских чиновников, в идеале в каждом отстроенном доме управления делами президента должна появиться подобная торговая точка.

For now, this is the only store with these kinds of products, though Kremlin officials say that, ideally, a similar store should appear in each of the presidential administrative office's refurbished buildings.
