The conflict in Chechnya has created a lot of problems for the neighboring regions. One of the most serious is the problem of refugees. |

Стабильная Кабардино-Балкария понесла огромные убытки из-за войны в Чечне. Горные курорты республики пустуют из-за того, что сейчас немного желающих провести отпуск на северном Кавказе. |

Even stable Kabardino-Balkariya has suffered huge losses because of the war in Chechnya. The republic's mountain resorts are deserted because few wish to spend their vacation in the northern Caucuses. |

Несколько санаторои й по решению руководства Кабардино-Балкарии отдано беженцам из Чечни. Многие из этих людей потеряли на войне своих близких. |

The leaders of Kabardino-Balkariya decided to turn over several of their resorts to refugees from Chechnya. Many of these people lost loved ones during the war. |

Встречавшиеся с беженцами депутаты госдумы от НДР [Наш дом России] смогли убедиться в реальных последствиях чеченского кризиса. Многие беженцы, особенно русские, не хотят возвращаться назад. |

State Duma deputies from the party Our Home is Russia met with the refugees and were able to witness the consequences of the Chechen crisis for themselves. Many refugees, particularly Russians, don't want to return. |
