BULLET ITEM SET UP Netscape to recognize which fonts to use

BULLET ITEM 1. Click on Edit on the menu bar at the top of the browser
BULLET ITEM 2. Select Preferences...
BULLET ITEM 3. Click on the triangle next to Appearance in the Category column on the left -IF- the triangle is NOT already pointed down and displaying items under Appearance already.
BULLET ITEM Click on Fonts from the list of items that appears
BULLET ITEM Select Cyrillic (koi8-r) from the list next to For the Encoding:

NOTE: If you did not correctly follow the steps under the bullet above AND start a new Netscape, then Cyrillic (koi8-r) will NOT appear in the pull down list.


BULLET ITEM Click on the selection list next to Variable Width Font
BULLET ITEM From the font list in the window that appears, select a font. All fonts displayed will be koi8-r Cyrillic fonts. A good, legible font suggestion is Helvetica (Adobecyr). Choose at your own discretion.
BULLET ITEM From the size list, we suggest size 14 or 16, but use your own discretion
BULLET ITEM If done properly, you should now see the Cyrillic alphabet (lowercase) here: ÁÂ×ÇÄÅÖÚÉÊËÌÍÎÏÐÒÓÔÕÆÈÃÞÛÝÜÀÑ

Use the alphabet above as SAMPLE TEXT in selecting the font and font size.

If you do not see the alphabet, please review the steps or go through these pages with your system administrator to track down the problem.


BULLET ITEM Click on the selection list next to Fixed Width Font
BULLET ITEM From the font list in the window that appears, select a font. A recommendation is Courier (Adobecyr).
BULLET ITEM From the size list, we suggest size 12, but use your own discretion
BULLET ITEM Click on the OK button to close the Preferences window
